Default Limp Mode - again sorry

Sorry but searching proved fruitless.
2003 D5 AWD (not XC70) 170K miles. Lovely car 160bhp has started going into limp mode. Prior to this the gearbox seemed "indecisive" and limp first appeared when using modest kickdown. I'm thinking gearbox oil/service and yes I get "regular engine service required" and "urgent...." when in limp. Incapable of DIY so just want a clue before I go to indy. Any help at all is much appreciated.

get a Bluetooth obd2 dongle/obd2 reader and see what the boost is doing,
if going over 16-18psi it is your problem, the vnt turbo needs cleaning,

I just bought two OBD2 readers - both WiFi. A £6 one from eBay and an £18 one from Eurocarparts. The latter works and the former doesn’t.

OK thanks guys. Bought reader from ECP and little to offer it seems.
I should point out in my ignorance and defence these readings come from a non-running engine (as per instructions) that has sat idle since last Wednesday. Do I need to warm it up and get the car into limp mode?

DTC
Fault: 02
P0094...........Fuel leak (?)
P0571...........Brake fault (?)
My question marks.

Pend: 04
P0088
P0087
P0193
P0092

0094 although plausible seems unlikely as there are NO signs of leakage anywhere.
0571 No issues with brakes although new front pads and disks fitted 1000 miles ago. NO brake warnings appear on the DIM.

The pendings (fuel) all seem to imply possible consequence of 0094 IF true. If I understand things correctly.

As an aside, are these bottles of "fuel system" cleaners any good?

Added info. I just took car for short run in the dark, suffered limp mode back to home. System resets when ignition is turned off but DTC readout remained unchanged. Did notice in the quiet that the fuel pump (rear) kept running instead of the 5 seconds or so the cutoff that I'm used to hearing in previous vehicles. Still no signs or smell of fuel leak.

sounds like fuel pump or injectors to me. take it to a diesel specialist and pay the diag fee. Then you can make an informed decision if it's worth fixing
