Guys, the PPC Diagnostics site says 'domain parked' - assume they have stopped trading. Does anyone have an alternative for reading codes for subject engine???

Not sure how PPC diagnostics is, depends which engine you have /year that depends which system you should get.

D5252t from 1998 or older, Ilexia VOL-FCR is what you want.

D5252t from 1999 or later, VIDA/DICE is what you want.

What VIDA/DICE options are there for the DIY home maintenance guy? Are there numerous manufacturers? Are some examples "better" or more accurate/reliable than others? Are some examples pieces of crap?

What should I be searching for on the google thing? Should I search google UK only?

Mine's a 2001 D5252T P2, registered mid-2000.
