Default Auto Boot Closing

Hi,

My XC70 has Auto Boot Closing as standard, you can open the boot lid either by pressing button on the dash or via the remote key fob; and to close it either the button on the boot lid or just pull it down.

But does anyone know if there is anyway to make it close using the remote key fob button or can the button on the boot lid be moved / another one added to a lower position so it can be reached easier.

Thanks.

Congrats on your new toy.
I can see where you are coming from with this. The switch is pretty high for someone more vertically challenged.
There's nowhere obvious to fit another switch so there may be a software tweak to allow you close it remotely.
However, being ever safety concious and litigious aware I don't imagine they'll give you the facility to let you close it remotely in case you press the button with your back turned and someone should get trapped by the closing tailgate. Cue a YouTube moment!!!
You'd have to put it to your dealer as I'm sure it'll be a question asked by a lot of "Soccer Moms" over in the States where this model is popular. Not that I am imlplying you are one BTW!

I had the same question... for a while I was pressing the remote hoping it would close.. and agree the button is rather high

Default hatch closing only with the upgraded personal option fob

the fob that lets you start the car without inserting key also has a remote opener..

the standard xc70 2008 does not have a door opener from inside or from fob...
