Had same fault on my 90 - front impact sensors. Couldn't really find a way to service them, so ended mup replacing both. Got the main dealer to the work though as didn't want to risk blowing bags! They are very easy to access on the 04/05 model years though - just remove the headlights and they are small whiteish plasticy rectangular things rivetted to the the body.

some of srs codes can be reseted only with Volvo computer. code READER doesn't mean you can program anything in you car. however this looks like something needs to be replaced( probably sips bag)

I'm having faults with both front impact sensors. To the above poster, has replacing both sensors cured the problem permanently? Someone has suggested that it's a bit odd to have both front sensors bad and it maybe a wiring issue.

The sensors themselves are very simple.
You may have corroded / dirty electrical connections

Disconnect battery, wait 30min, then disconnect each front crash sensor (under the headlamp assembly) and check the connectors are clean and fit with sufficient friction.
If in doubt clean with contact cleaner spray

The airbag system checks that the sensor is connected (and that the circuit is complete) by measuring the internal resistance from the SAS unit to the sensor, including the wiring, all loom connectors, and the sensor.
If the sensor is open circuit, then the sensor has failled due to corrosion etc.
Of course, the connection to the sensor must be clean and dry, otherwise it may also measure as open circuit.
So with a multimeter you can measure the sensor directly and should measure some resistance. No 0 ohms, Not open circuit. Something reasonable.

When working on airbag systems always disconnect the battery and wait for 30min for all systems to power down fully.
