Default Discounts

It seems that Volvo are sticking to their strategy of selling the new models with minimum discounts. This week's drive the deal suggests the discount on the v90 and XC90 is only 8.75% (presumably much less if you walk into your local dealer). I know newer models always have smaller discounts, but as a comparison they are offering 18.75% off the list price of a brand new 'new model' E Class Merc.

Suggest to me that the Mercs are even more overpriced than the Volvos then - doesn't suggest that Volvo should offer even larger discounts
