Default Some recent auction results

There are a few recent interesting auction results.

A couple of "barn find" 1800 projects went for £1380 and £4830.

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/248...?category=list

And this 122S went for £10925.

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/248...?category=list

And I popped down to Errol for Morris Leslie's classic auction last month.

A 121 Automatic sold for £2756, and an 1800S bid up to £19,500 but didn't sell (at the sale, at least).

Right I’m now officially confused, I thought 122s the second 2 denotes doors where as I see this 10k car was actually a 4 door

As an owner of an Automatic Amazon the selling price of the condition 3 car is good news. I'm recommisioning my twin SU automatic at the moment and I was worried about throwing too much money at the project.

I've never ever seen a airfilter like on this Amazon 4 door. Anybody knows about another one? I'm interested very much on a item like this.
Regards, Kay

I saw the Bonhams cars at Beaulieu at the weekend. The cheap 1800 was VERY rough and maybe worth about half that price as spares only. The 1800E wasn't so bad but the paint job which was a few years old put a false gloss (sic) on it. It would still need another paint job. Again, overpriced but who am I to say. Maybe they were bid for over the phone.
The Amazon, on the other hand, was rather nice, excellent overall. It did have a carpet type overlay on the dash top but neatly done. Maybe cracked underneath but an easy fix if needed. Unfortunately, no overdrive fitted. The car was locked so couldn't inspect under the bonnet and in the boot. I see it has the export type air cleaner as fitted for Rhodesia and it's nice that was kept. Very showable. Buyers premium does jack up the price but about right I'd say. It wouldn't surprise me though if it shows up on a dealer site for a big chunk more.

See my post. Export version for high dust conditions. Has an oil bath type filter. Look at the Amazon Parts book

Yours looks a good bit nicer than the one at auction. I don't see any brush marks on your boot lid for one thing!

My Bodywork was good to start with, original cills wheel arches etc. Paint needs some attention now-
