Xc60 Rdesign driver seat play/movement
I have a 2015 XC60 Rdesign Lux that I've had from new. It has now covered 50k mikes and I have some free play in the drivers side seat mechanism. It appears to be coming from the pivot point between the seat back and the seat base, mainly on the left hand side of the seat.
When I pull up at a junction it clunky forwards and when I pull away it clicks back again. I've mentioned this when I first noticed it when it went in for its 2 year service. "No noticeable play discovered" At its 3 year service before the warranty ran out they said there was some play but no more than any other similar aged car. I need to do something about it, but wondered if anyone else has had similar issue. Or any info on stripping a seat down. Could be wear in pivot, or wear in electrics/gearing.

I have exactly the same thing in my 2014 R-design so would be interested if anyone has a fix for this.

Mine does it too so I guess it's an inherent design issue.

I has the same issue with my 2014 XC60 R-Design. It was movement between the backrest and the base and could only be felt on acceleration or braking.
I could reproduce it by pulling the backrest towards the bottom and I had to demonstrate it to the technician at my local dealer as it was really hard to explain. Once he saw it he ordered a new seat frams and it was replaced under warranty. There is a circular metal bar that joins the backrest to the base and there was a small amount of play somewhere in that mechanism. |

I've just had my 4 year service done, at 56,000 miles.
I explained the seat issue to the Volvo technician and he said he would look into it. On collecting the car, he told me he had found wear on a actuator/module within the seat, ...collapses part of the seat in an accident?? Anyway, he replaced it. No play, feels like a new seat now. Just thought I'd share this as it might help some of you out.

My 2014 R design has this issue too. It is at volvo for a service on Friday so will mention it to them and see what they say.

I didn't see the bill as my car is on an extended lease through the company I work for.
