S40: - S40 T4 2001 sound system upgrade

Evening all

looking at upgrading my sound system i have a volvo s40 t4 2001. Are there restrictions on what i can change it to. The same with the radio want to get a full size screen one. Also the one that is in there at the moment has a code attached will that move to the new one or will that stay with the radio already in the car?

The code is for the radio currently fitted, & will not transfer to a new unit.
There shouldn't be any real problems with fitting an upgrade, but if your current unit has a seperate amplifier, the amplifier may have to be removed, or bypassed for the new unit. Ideally,... a wiring harness should make things a bit more straightforward, if you can't get an adaptor/ harness you will need to identify & tap in to the existing wires.
