heated windscreen broken? Only works on passenger siderfro
I recently bought a used V70 (2016 model?) which has the novelty of a heated front screen. So on the first frosty day this autumn, the windscreen defrosted beautifully - but only on the passenger side! There is a visible division between the two sides of the screen, so maybe the connection for the driver's side has become compromised ...? Does anybody out there how this could be fixed (I called my local dealer, but they said they "don't know much about windscreens"!)? Thank you.

Probably just the fuse that has gone for the driver side
Check your manual to see which fusebox and which fuse.

Thank you for your suggestion!
A little red-faced that I didn't think of this myself, I have found the manual pages re. fuses, and will investigate the problem as soon as it stops raining ! (I will let you know if I manage to fix it, having followed your advice.) Thank you again.

I remember having this issue on a Mondeo ST a few years ago, and it turned out to be a connection perished between the windscreen and the heating element power supply.
It was unfixable. Hopefully yours won't be as terminal. |

Just to let you know what happened next ... I located the fuse box, but it was kind-of "sealed" under some other components, so ended up taking the car to the local dealership ... and the outcome eventually was to replace the screen (since the car is still under warranty). Not clear what the original source of the problem was (though of course I mentioned the fuse question) as they handed the repair off to a w/screen company. Thank you again for your advice.
