Default i906 - will it do the basics for other cars too?

We've a few other cars in the family besides just the Volvo. We've got a Peugeot and a Toyota. Anyone know if the i906 will read/clear basic codes on these vehicles or if it truly is just "for VOLVO"!!

Do you mean to use for the other cars or for all cars? Sorry, just not 100% clear what you mean. :-)

If you mean for all cars, I had understood that the i906 is superior to other dongles for Volvo.

For such a specific query, why don't you ask a seller of the i906?
If they say it will do what you want and it doesn't, you have some comeback.

True. Good idea. I guess I just know that a lot of eBay sellers, especially the high volume ones come back to you about a week later rather than the 5 minute timeframe this amazing forum seems to operate to!

It'll be nearer 5 years than 5 minutes to find a member who has used an i906 to clear codes on a Volvo, Peugeot and Toyota.

When I suggested asking a seller, I meant pick up the phone and speak to them.

Hi, there's no phone number for the seller. Otherwise, that would be a great idea. I'll see if any of the other listings have a phone number.

And I don't need to wait for the stars to align such that a forum member with a Volvo, a Peugeot and a Toyota AND an i906 comments...more just a member with a Volvo and any other modern car with an OBD II port. Anyway. Thanks all the same!

The point of OBDII is that it's a legal standard so you've answered your own question.

As for the seller not having a number, there isn't just one seller.
The quickest of Google searches will find a long list of sellers that have a phone number.
It took me seconds to check that so perhaps you should give it a go.

Thanks for the snark but I'd already pre-empted that by saying one post above that I would have a look if another listing had a phone number.

I don't need your help, thank you, so feel free not to comment anymore.

I will ring round tomorrow when places open (another reason for posting this today)
