Having my side bars sprayed in Raptor.
Bars are eroding at the front and back sections and look unsightly.
Went to the spray shop and asked for advice.
My preference was to have them powder coated in a dark grey to match the plastic trim around the bottom.
He advised to have them sprayed with Raptor, did some research and it seems that it is a very good product.
I don't mind the texture finish, it can be sprayed fairly smooth.
My concern is that I stand on the bars to wash/polish the car, he said that it won't be a problem as they use it for cargo beds and is scratch resistant.
Time will tell.
Booked in on the 15th, will post pics after the job is done.

I opted to have the end brackets powder coated. I decided to leave the bars original which means there is a slight difference in colour to the brackets now but they aren't really noticed unless pointed out

Lovely job.
Although my car is silver, I wanted the steps to match the plastic trim.
I like the steps for protection, but IMO I think they stand out too much against the dark grey plastic and the darker steps will compliment my black and polished wheels.
I will put pics up when they are done.
I realise that they won't be to everyone's taste, but we all have our own opinions

4x4, what did you use to stick your rubber XC tread plates back on with please?

The rubbers were on the steps when I bought them and I suspect they are original. They should be stuck on with double sided tape, but as mine were lifting slightly at the outer edges I carefully applied some black silicon under the lifted area and clamped them until dry

Must get mine done ...paint lifting at the back on drivers side on mine and big gash along nearside step (which was on car when i bought it and kind of looks like an off road battle scar so i left it on LOL)

Thinking of getting mine done in Graphite Grey Metallic stoving enamel..

.My car silver too but i think graphite grey at step level will look ok

anybody know where to buy the rubber treads on their own?

Rubbers are almost impossible to find now, I saw some advertised around a year ago but they are all gone

I know it's not to everyone's choice, but I love em.
Blend in with the bottom of the car.
