AC filler cap left open
Hi guys,
My AC doesn't work, and I noticed the AC filler cap (the 6nm one) was dangling on the pipe. Even though I closed that, no joy in it working. Would that being left open for a couple of months of driving cause all the gas to escape? Could it have caused any other damage? Cheers, Phil

Short answer is no.
The cap isn't there to seal the system, each line has a valve which the cap is there to protect/ stop any dirt getting in. First port of call is generally to get the car hooked up to an ac machine that will do a pressure test to check for leaks. |

Sounds like there are other causes for your lack of AC, i'd suggest taking it to an AC specialist in your area (NOT Helfrauds, Fik Wit or similar! ) for diagnosis. If you haven't used it regularly then it may have leaked from a dried up seal.
