Upgrading the basic 'sensus' audio system

My 2012 my R Design comes with the Bobby basic audio system, which sounds OK, no better.

It has 2 speakers per front door, a dash centre speaker and a basic full range speaker in each back door.

Is there an OE upgrade available? The sounds from the rear are just dull and muddy, or am I getting into aftermarket components?

Having never seen a Subwoofer for mine on eBay, I guess I'm looking for rocking horse you know what?

I don't want something that'll get me an asbo, just a bit more low end punch and higher end crispness.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

I'm guessing your R-Design has the basic Performance set up with just the 6 speakers.
No dash speaker I'm afraid as that was only found in the Premium Sound upgrade with Dolby as it needed a 5 channel amp for that.
Yours has a 4x20W and the High Performance System has 4x40W for its 8 speakers.
Incidentally, the factory option subwoofer was only available until 2011 so I suspect it may not be compatible with the later Sensus models like yours.

You would definitely improve your sound by upgrading the amp and changing the speakers for better quality ones either OEM or aftermarket (which might be chaeper).
