Default Electric click noise when brake pedal pressed

Hi all,

A faint click noise can be heard behind the dash every time I apply the brakes. The noise (triggered on activation of brake lights)appears and disappears again on the same journey.

I wondered if I need to look behind the dash to cure a possible wiring problem, or whether something needs replacing.

The car is 1988 340DL 1400cc.

Also while I am here, the bulb that illuminates the lighting switch has failed. Is this bulb easy to replace without having to remove too many dashboard panels?

Thanks for your help,

Matty.

I'd put it down to the brake light switch being noisier than usual. If it really annoys you try replacing it. I cant see there being any wiring problems which are contributing to the problem
