Has any one ever replaced the pressure sensor in the intercooler?

Error code description Barometric Pressure Correlation. General Failure Information

Car is a 2007 S80 D5 Auto

I am getting the above error and the car goes into limp mode, still just about driveable but no turbo at all. The error comes and goes at random, no set pattern, but does appear to happen more on hot starts. If the car starts and it is ok, it won't drop into limp mode unless you restart.

Things tried so far....

Sensor removed and cleaned - no improvement
Throttle body removed and cleaned, was thick with sludge. I also cleaned out the egr housing, but didnt go as far as removing the cooler section and cleaning that.

New air filter
New fuel filter
Swirl flaps operating
no leaks that I can hear or see.

FRF say they havent had many of these go and at £80 I want to be sure first.

Any help appreciated.

replying to my own post in the hope it helps someone else out down the line.

Bit the bullet and replaced the pressure sensor (MAP) in the intercooler, now on 40+ cycles and no errors what so ever, fingers crossed its fixed.

A bit late but yes , changed 3 in the last 6 months 2 for air inlet temp problems and the one was giving false boost pressure readings occasionaly .. The Air inlet temp sensor is built into the boost pressure sensor .

Hi

I have same problem, my fault code is P2227 barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance. But car goes in to limp mode at randome time, even when it starts normaly, then after warming up looses boost. I had it with my local Volvo specialists, but they did not find anything, so much for specialists. Only thing they said was taht hydraulic dampers on valves are noisy and should be changed, and that shoul give it more power, turbo rod operates fine, i cleaned map sensor, Volvo couldn't put it in more accessible place.
I might go for new map sensor, but it is a bit expensive.

found bosh map sensor on Ebay, £38, will change it next week.
Eurocarparts was £60, but not available.

The volvo one is £80 you can only guarantee that one will work .. Others may be out of tolerance for example . is it worth the risk? you will think the boost pressure sensor is fine and spend/waste money elsewhere . It will cost you £500 for a set of rockers , never seen a worn one yet .

Hi

Clean will see what it's going to be like.
I had a look around engine today, and i could not find boost control valve, i took off between egr and inlet manifold, and duct between airbox and turbo, and i could not see any valve there. No valves/sensors on top of the maifild either.

I plugged OBD2 with life data stream, and i noticed that MAP is starting at around 30.1 inMh, and as i put my foot down pressure drops bellow 28inMh, which is a bit strange, it should go up. At around 3500rpm engine starts to surge, white smoke from exhaust, but if i press my foot to the metal, surge stops, but engine revs up to only approx 4000rpm. I wonder is faulty map responsible for surge??

I've pluged obd to my wife's car, scenic, and map starts at 29.92inMh, and raises up, as expected.

Hi

MAP replaced, same part number, as the original one. Seems to fix the limp mode problem. I tried to clean turbo by spraying Mr Muscle oven cleaner in to hot section, lokks like it has a bit more power, and bit more mpg as well.
Surge still present, so I'll book visit in my local Volvo dealer to plug it in to proper VIDE.

Photo of two MAP sensors attached.
