Service and Battery Q's
Hi, I just bought a 07 C30 1.6D with 30k. The Subaru dealer I bought it from promised a service would be carried out by them. I was assured it was done when I picked it up and the stamp was there. I am pretty sure it hasn't. Does anyone have any experience with the 169GBP service offered at Rybrook Volvo Warrington?
Also, my battery seems to be discharging fast. It was left unused for one day and I got a message on the dash "Low Battery Low Power Mode". I used it again yesterday and checked the battery today and it seems to be half way discharged so I'm assuming I need a new one. Anyone know how much Volco charge or if there is a different fault? Finally, the reflector on the bumper on the drivers side is cracked. Does anyone know where I can get one? Many Thanks! |

Well, do you have a multi-meter? If yes, measure the current battery voltage with the engine off. If it is below 12 volts, then there is something wrong.
Measure after that the current of the altenator charging. If that is around 13.8-14.5 volts (somewhere between that) then the altenator is fine and the battery will be dieing. Mine is around 6 years old and is slowly dieing. Winters are getting a little hard to start

What makes you think they never carried out the service ?
As for the battery pls see my thread re my problem with the battery a few weeks ago. below was the outcome, , , For anybody with the same problem it was the battery. After leaving it disconnected overnight it was putting out 12.3v with the multimeter. Reattached it and tried to start with no turning over, display faults galore on the DIS and the good old clicking noise before it went completely dead. Testing it attached to car with engine off 12.3V and during cranking, the meter dropped to 4.5V ! Tried the meter on another car which read 12.5V with engine off and 11.5v whilst cranking when starting so to me that indicated the battery. Ordered a Bosch S5 from Euro Parts ( 92.00quid, next day ) and it arrived this morning ( ordered at 11am and it arrived 10am this morning, excellent service IMO ) Fitted and all sorted. Could have got one for 74 but went for the Bosch due to its cranking rate, Ah output and five year guarantee. Bit hacked off that my original battery went after 3.5 years but hey ho. From what I've read it can happen. It was going into the dealers for this problem so I'll have saved a few quid with their dianostic check and subsequent bill. Andy Good Luck ! |

i cannot help on the battery front. the rear reflectors are ford parts and are ****e the clips are v clipped remove them once or twice and they snap. go to volvo i am sure they cost no more than £15-20. or you could try ford but i do not know if they have them available just make sure you order the correct side of the vehicle when i had mine done they ordered the wrong side so i got two new ones. |
