Default Weird noise when deadlocking

Hi, on my wife's 2006 S40, after the doors are locked there is usually the secondary clunk a few seconds afterwards. Over the last few weeks, this has changed to a weird whirry noise. Sorry if this is too technical

First question really is whether its still deadlocking, second any ideas on what may be going or have already gone home ?

Thanks as always for your help

Lock car, within a minute the deadlocks come on. Simple! Could the whirry noise be the electronics shutting/cooling down mode. Basically there is nothing to worry about.

What the noise is, is the second dead lock motor.
What can happen is the motor engages the deadlock then goes completly and if it goes when locked you have to break door panel off and break lock open.
Your probably best replacing the faulty lock.
