Unknown Orifice in Stromberg Carb
Hi All,
I have a question about the Stromberg Carb. The front Stromberg has an orifice on the lower face of the outlet flange; see the pic below, I have circled it in red. I was examining the carbs over the weekend and this particular orifice was blocked with a self tapping screw and glue!? Can anyone shed some light on what this orifice is there for? One thing to note is that the orifice does not go through to the carb throat and it ejects fuel when not blocked. For obvious reasons, this is a concern as I don't want fuel randomly spurting onto the exhaust manifold... Thanks for your time. Dylan Last edited by Dylan144GT; Sep 15th, 2015 at 10:15. Some carbs have alloy plugs in orifices especially fixed jet ones more so that they can be removed to try and unblock the drilled oilways/fuel ways within the casting where maybe they go at right angles. If you did`nt have these plugs then it would not be possible to unblock if they became clogged with sludge etc.

Hmm
Could be the position for the vacuum pipe for the distributor.
