It does look a fantastic buy.

I had exactly the same thing when I changed my old V40 T4 for the V60; it was a lovely and much loved car, and still in excellent condition, but too many miles meant too much money going through the tank.

Sad to hear about the hassle but I am sure you'll find a genuine good home for her soon!

I've dropped the price to £1950 in light of it being due a service imminently. Another two days, more no shows and time-wasters. I realise more than ever why people resort to specialist car buyers. Their low-ball prices look less ridiculous when you weigh up the impact that timewasting and no-shows have on your personal and work life.

The main emotion I'm having right now is the hate for the timewasters. I've now spent three evenings at home, off the sauce, waiting for some low life (3 different people) that just doesn't turn up. Many messages I get through Autotrader, Pistonheads, eBay and Gumtree also seem to be from people that actually have no interest in buying it and some even sent borderline abusive messages.

This is the last time I sell a car privately. I'm done with it.

I feel for you, I utterly hate selling cars these days. When I sold the Audi at an advertised £1900 I had many nearly abusive messages offering £900 because that was all it was worth!! At £1900 with a working soft top it was the cheapest in the country at the time! Idiots

Looks a lovely T5 and a shame you're being messed about.

What is it with people? I'm aware we're posting on here but not looking to buy, which is doubtless frustrating, but we're (certainly I am) trying to be supportive. Why people who aren't seriously interested in buying want to even get in touch, let alone arrange to view then not turn up or else be abusive is just beyond me.

I feel for you too. You're offering a fantastic buy for someone - if it'd been a few months ago, before I decided to keep and start spending on my own S40, I'd have been seriously interested myself - and I just hope they turn up soon!

All the best

David

She's now sold. Off to a new owner in Teesside. Mixed emotions, I'll miss the old girl.
