Unfortunately, after changing the battery, the rear sensor issue is still there

I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, but I gave my sensors a thorough cleaning with all purpose cleaner and they haven't misbehaved since, strange!!!

I'd just popped back to see if you'd updated this, somehow missed your last post!

So, what did you do coz I've wiped over mine a few times with no joy...

They worked for a bit, then went back to their usual thing, it's so intermittent i really can't see a pattern.

Have you tried taking the bumper off yet? Next free weekend I get I'll give it a go...

The rear sensors on mine are definitely not as sensitive as they should be, either, as I've now tested them out, when not screaming, by reversing up to a wall. They only start beeping when I'm really close.

I've had my car serviced at my local Volvo dealership today, turns out the problem's in the module, which is giving out too high a current at times.

Changing the module's very easy, although I'm not sure if it needs programming to the car so not sure if I can do it myself.

Default Module

I Have the same problem for about 1 year, but the VOLVO dealer never came to conclusion. At some point, they sugested replacing the CEM. But the price is so hi, I prefered to not replace it.

Since your solution seems to be a diferent one, can you please inform the part number of the module you have to replace?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I don't know what the part number is as I haven't replaced mine yet, it's behind the filler cap in the boot compartment.

Default PAM or AEM

Elfed,

There are 2 diferent modules related to the Rear Parking System.

These 2 modules are :
PAM - Parking Assitance Module
AEM - Acessories Electronic Module

Did they mention the name of the malfunctioning one?

I'm pretty sure it was the Parking Assist Module.
