Default Replacing Front Screen Wash Motor

My front screen wash motor has packed up after running dry. I have bought a replacement part (PEWP48) which i'm told was for a Ford Mondeo but will fit my 2006 S40. Slightly puzzled as its a twin outlet and mine only has a front screen wash.

Would anyone know if this motor would indeed fit and how easy it is to replace.

I've read a few articles and note that the resevoir is behind the wing but I dont know where the motor is located, or how easy it is to replace.

Any comments or advice would be gratefully received. Really trying hard to avoid the £122 quoted by Volvo to replace this motor.

Thanks

Yes it's a Ford bit, like so many bits which seem to break on the S40 it has a Ford Part number, emblem, everything! So a Ford one would probably fit but two outlets sounds like they have given you one for a Hatchback (are the outlets one white and one black by any chance) as opposed to a Saloon

Easy enough to replace - remove wheel, then inner arch liner using torx, the bottle is in two sections both of which are unscrewed from the body inside the wheel arch. They are joined by a bit of flexy hose and the motors are situated in the bottom half of the bottles. It takes a little bit of manoeuvring but isn't too bad to remove.

Took about 45 minutes after deciphering the bottle construction but it does explain why the washer fluid never mixes properly with the water if added separately as opposed to pre-mixed solution, the bottle construction doesn't allow the fluid to mix ....

Hi
I am assuming s40 is same as c70 (06>). If so then wash motor is attached to the wash bottle on the A pillar behind osf wing. From recent experience I don't think it is accessible without taking off the wing...daft system but that's the way it is!!

Thanks for all your comments. The pump does indeed have 1 black and 1 white outlet but I've since found another with only 1 output which should be the saloon rather than hatchback.

After consideration, being an insurance computer programmer and due to take the car to france next week...... i'm taking it to Lakes in St Neots to fit.

Thanks again.

I gave it a go and after a struggle, managed to remove the pump. It was gunged up quite badly and after a quick wipe, all is well again. Inner wing back on and £120 saved. Thanks for all your advices and help.
