Default 2008 V50 D5 - Adjusting pedal position/bush questions.

Quick questions:

1. Can the position of the pedals be adjusted? Particularly the brake pedal. I would like it moved back so it is inline with the throttle. I've now on multiple times hit the brake as I move to press the accelerator as my foot moves across to it. Never had this issue in any other cars!!!

2. Front bushes - how long would these take to do?

3. Rear bushes, which bushes are near to the shock absorber? I need to replace the shocks so I was wondering which of the bushes are easy to do at the same time?

Thanks!

1. Well that is irritating. :/ Seriously puts me off buying another V50 that does!!

2. Everything at the front, maybe minus the ARB bushes if they are hard to get to. The steering feels very 'loose' and I think it is the bushes.

3. Any that are easy to get to when you have the suspension part for the dampers to be changed.

I've got a quote of 10/11 hours labour to do every single rear bush, which is too much.

you will find many cars now with the throttle and brake set to different heights for safety. stops you from using both at the same time quite how you mistake the brake for the throttle i do not know.

Rubbish if true, having driven a 1983 golf for the last 5 years I find the V50s pedal positions much worse.

I'm sure I'll get used to it but still.

go and sit in many a modern car (and no i do not consider a 1983 golf modern) and discover that fact then safety has really moved on since 1983...but many do have the brake and throttle at a different level for this reason, not being funny but nearly every car i have moved around or sat in has had this where by either your foot on the brake is at a lower level not depressed than the throttle or the brake at higher level than the throttle the latter being more common although my punto was the other way...(it makes heel and toe virtually impossible mind you but i would avoid doing this on the public highway anyway).

i still cannot see though how though you can "move across the brake" and make it engage tbh) i have just tried it myself on the drive (manual) and found it utterly perplexing...unless you changing gear in a manual using your left foot lol...

Wear trainers!

Pedal box is narrow i have had problems in shoes with it too - you get used to it mind.

Bushes - go powerflex, much better and last forever.

I have driven mine in dock off Cat boots without much issue...my major issue was with the clutch because i have absolutely no sense where it is biting!

You can move the throttle up so that it is even with the brake if that helps. I have size 14 feet and sometimes I catch the throttle when braking. To top it all off because of an accident I had years back I have no feeling in my lower right leg/foot and I don't have full movement in my ankle so in the case of my track car I need the throttle to be higher than the brake for me to be able to h&t.
