Nowadays as we know, some Volvo spare parts are not as good as they used to be. Possibly for example water pumps, exhaust pipes....

Thank you Clan. I do still suspect that Volvo's standards for spare parts are slipping....

yes i am sure they are just like everybody else , it would cost nearly £100,000 to make a 960 these days , no one would buy them then of course. body quality and standards now are quite amazing now though and the car is laden with electronics , things are a bit different .

I tried WR7DC's in my old B200e 240 & had no issues with them, it ran fine. Next change I put BERU 4 electrode jobs in. It did not like them at all. Binned them and got OE ones via PFV and stuck with them until I sold it 2yrs ago.

I recently replaced the plugs on my 04' V70. They had done circa 30k miles and were on the car when I got it. It had a bad coil pack on cyl 3, I replaced that and decided to do the plugs too.

I got OE ones from PFV (they supplied a BERU coil pack). £90 quid delivered to here in France. Pemzec Volvo in Redon wanted something like 170€. Eek! For OE plugs & coil pack.

When I removed the old plugs I found them to be DENSO 4 electrode. FWIW the car ran perfectly on the DENSO ones , can't say I can feel any difference (smoothness or mpg wise) on the new Volvo plugs.

maybe not but you know they will keep this up for the whole service distance whether it is 36000 or 72000 miles .. fit and forget as many people do these days ( forget to change them that is ! )
Volvo turbo engines were always very fussy with plugs , the volvo ones always worked faultlessly over the entire service life whilst other makes would soon start misfiring ..

^^^ my ph2 is not turbo, just a 170hp.

I haven't looked at the ones in my ph1 T5 yet, I've only had it two years
Good to know tho' that the tubs are fussy. I'll get OE when I do them.
Thanks.

So ... not much help
