Default Jensen P1800

I have an 1800E but have been after a Jensen built P1800 for a few years without luck. I like the white or grey but not red.

Has anybody got one for sale?

Thanks.

All P1800 models seem to be getting rare, in the UK.
Until a year ago the 1800ES seemed to be fairly plentiful on various websites for sale.
The 1800S can be found in Europe quite easily, however it only rarely comes available in the UK, in usable condition.
P1800 Jensen built cars in correct form, are becoming like hen's teeth!
Have some been bought and then disappeared into long term storage?

Can I ask why you particularly want a Jensen built car? Is it the fact that it was built by Jensen or the styling of the trim and interior etc of the early cars that attracts you?

All of those points.

Having said that, the 1800E is much nicer to drive, if the d-jetronic injection system works.

It is a subjective view, of course, as to what is the nicest to drive.
From one stand point yes a 1970's car will be nicer, or easier to drive than a 1960's car, but so can be said of 1980's, 1990's, 2000's, and hence a 2018 car.
For me the P1800 and early 1800S are great in part due to their character. Of course there are oddities like the overdrive switch being a dashboard mounted unit, the headlight dip-switch being floor mounted, and no heated rear window, but these add character in my eyes.
The dashboard design is not as "safe", and the front seats don't lock.
But.......
whichever, enjoy the P1800/1800S/1800E/1800ES series!

Well I've owned about 30 1800S's, 5 E's and a couple of ES's. They all have their different plus points but Godfather is right, the E is a significantly better car to drive. In fact the worst E drove better than the best S I ever had - and I've had some beauties. Looks however are more subjective and for me the 1967 cars are the best looking.

I asked as I might be selling a very early 63 P1800S. These were really cars made up using left over stocks from the Jensen run, hence my question does it have to be a Jensen. But I think from other posts I've seen you already found a car?

Mike,
Thanks for your update.
I have an early S and am happy with it.
That said if I was starting again I would be tempted by a Jensen car.

Yes they all have their pro's and cons. I have to make a decision very shortly. I've got a '63 and a '70, both solid cars needing restoration. Cant keep both so I either go for the character of the early car or the driveability of the late one. I keep putting it off.
