Default 2004 XC70 D5 Fuel Cap retainer

Starting to sort out the stupid niggly bits that need doing on my new car. One which creates a disproportionate amount of frustration is the broken retainer for the fuel cap. I ordered a replacement from eBay and then discovered there are two sizes of fuel cap (petrol bigger than diesel I'm guessing)

Anyone breaking a car with the smaller c. 63mm cap that's got an intact retaining strap type thing?

If you are lucky you might be able to just replace the strap part.

go remove you filler cap then look closely at the ring were the strap attaches, if you can see 2 very small pins then you can just replace the strap.

look at this ebay listing with pictures of the cap/pins

Nope, need a new cap as the ring broke removing it to fit the too large replacement.
