speedo signal comes from the reluctor on the diff housing nose.
The wires are a twisted pair, brown/white and green/white. They are located at A3 and A5 pins on the connector at the back of the instrument cluster. The LH module picks up a speedo signal from the speedo on a violet/white wire All that from a diagram for a '95 940. Can't imagine why it would change much. 1998 diagram
Looking at the 98 diagram it is still the same. Speed signal to the LH unit is connected to D:1 on the instrument cluster.

Do you have any tips for me about this problem? Briefly explained: Starting up the engine and driving immediately. When the engine reaches operating temperature, idling will be up to 1200-1500 revolutions. When the car stops (ignition on) idling goes down to normal. Starting and rolling without gas, the idle speed goes back to 1200-1500. Turning off ignition and restarting idle is completely normal.

Without knowing more about the problem, it sounds like either a vacuum leak, low coolant level or a Lambda sensor problem to me.
