Ignition off.
Refering to the wiring diagram, which i assume you have. The LU solenoid is connected to terminals A23 Brown wire & A26 Yellow/white. These terminals are in the connector block 8/37a on top of the gearbox. You need to separate the terminal block (unplug the block from the loom) and using the meter on ohms measure the resistance between the two terminals, this should be 5.6 ohms. |

Check the circuit resistance from the terminal block before you put it back together to and make sure you have cured the open circuit, you don't want to have to go in the valve box again if you can help it.
Good luck! |

well, its fixed. it was that wire on solonoid valve not conected. drives lovely, all gears are so smoth and kickdown, well, its a bloody rocket. coming from a 850 2.6 10v estate to this, is mind blowing. this car on kickdown is so quick. ran it for about a hour, checked fault codes again, nothing, thanks again chris, and others.

This has been a great topic and very interesting to me because I too am experiencing problems with my 2.4 T S60 gearbox I will be testing the resistance to the solenoid tomorrow but does anyone have a wiring diagram or a link to one.
Very many thanks guys. |

hi buzz, best tool to get is the code reader from nordic. brilliant, gives you the same code readings as from volvo. mine came up as lock up solonoid fault, and faulty signal. only way forward really.
