London does seem to be more draconian than other cities — I took the Volvo through Bath the other week and went past signs saying there was a charge, but when I checked the Gov site, it said it was compliant, so I'm guessing their charge only applies to diesels?

I don't mind the ULEZ charge politically — it's well intentioned and certainly London's air needs to be cleaner. I just wish I could think of a complaint alternative that might make a worthy alternative, but it's hard since I really love the custard car and wouldn't like to see it go, but equally don't want to just watch it sitting on the street doing nothing

I keep thinking maybe I should look at newer Volvos, but I can't bring myself to even think about them

It amazes me more that people are happy to live in London frankly.

12.50 a day unles you buy a virtually brand new car.

And the city will still have high pollution levels (I would be suprised if there is any meaningful drop in pollution!).
