National volvo meet/show

Do we have a team of people interested in organising this event? We're probably already too late for 2009 (for the sort of event some folk are talking about...), but we're in good time to plan for 2010.

I'm up for a meet at Billing, are we any closer to finalising a date?

I don't think we're any closer to anything re: a national show. It all went very quiet...

If we really want a large-scale event, I think the best bet is to propose that the national BKV is (significantly) expanded to be more than 'just' a show and shine event. The big things will be to choose a venue which can support everything people will want to do, then make sure enough people will attend to justify the cost of hiring such a venue.

I'll talk to you on Sunday regarding this if you're going to Grantham, I think a forum, whilst possibly of some use as a 'barometer' of opinion is no place to attempt to organise such an event,

Vauxhall hold a big weekend at billing every year , all the vauxhall marque clubs go as well as modified etc . Having been several times its a great show and there is no snobbery its all about enjoying vauxhalls old and new .
Our volvos including the classic are used everyday and even with a polish will never be concours so an all volvo meet every year would be good an all swedish meet would be better as it would reduce costs for all .
