Default XC60 High Performance Audio

I had a loan car today from the garage whilst they try to get to the bottom of an ABL fault and I noticed that the Radio Text scrolled across the screen on the v70.

I wonder of any of you who have High Performance Audio fitted could tell me of you get the radio text scrolling across the screen or if it is static as on my car?

It is enabled from Menu, FM setting, Radio Text

TIA

Not much help to you as mine is an xc90 but just went and tried radio text to see what you were on about and it does scroll across the screen which is really useful telling you about stations if you are in a different area to normal .

Thanks for the replies. I have also just looked at a friends '08 v50 and it scrolls on that also - seems like the only place it does not scroll is the XC60 I can't see why the XC60 is different, after all it is the same radio system used on all the models, just the speaker placment that is different.

any other models that people could check?

I will need to see what Volvo say next week - watch this space

I have had my XC60 just over a week and the text scrolls. You need to go into the RDS settings in the menu. Go into the menu with the radio on - FM Settings - Radio Text. Check the box and away you go........

Hmmmm, we now seem to have real inconsistency. According to Volvo this morning it is not meant to scroll, yet when I showed them it happening on the v70 in the showroom they were confused (not difficult to confuse them!).

I have tried it now in 3 different XC60s and none of them scroll, yet you have one where it does - how do we find out what the proper, correct behaviour is?

Another niggle is that if I open the rear doors with the 'ignition' on I get a warning saying rear seat belts not used - I know they are not used, there is nobody sitting there!! (again according to Volvo garage this is what is meant to happen )

Ah, the joys of buying a complicated peice of machinery where the manufacturer retains all the detailed manuals

The box only seems to "allow" you to see text below station name etc. Not the actual scrolling.

Andy,

I notice that you say you have the DynAudio rather than the lower spec High Performance that I have on my car, I wonder if this is why they are different?

Can you confirm to me that your XC60 is a MY2010?

I would be interested to hear from other XC60 owners with dynaudio and standard audio whether the text scrolls on their vehicles - just to see the level of inconsistency before I call Volvo in Marlowe

Yes - I have a 10MY car as it's a 205PS D5. I have driven a 2008 S80 (with performance Hi-Fi) and a 2006 S40 (with standard Hi-fi) recently and they both scroll the same as my car.

MY10 XC60 D5 SE Lux Premium with Dynaudio - Radio text does not scroll.

MY09 S40 2.0D R-Design with upgraded High Performance Sound - Radio Text do scroll.

Strange....
