Boot Won't Open With Remote
Not sure if this is a common problem or not but the boot on my '08 VC70 won't open with the remote. The boot will open with the handle when I push it forward towards the car but sometimes it'll spring back up again.
Is there a fix for this or do I have to live with this problem? |

Just for clarification, you have definitely got the power tailgate option fitted? There will be a switch by the headlamp switch to open it & one on the bottom of the tailgate inner trim to close it. Assuming you do, are you holding the button on the fob for long enough?

Well that's weird. Beforehand I could hear a click when I used the remote but the boot lid wouldn't open. I managed to open it manually with the handle. Just tried it a minute ago and it's opened. Not sure if the unit inside the boot lid is on the way out or not.

Mine does this if the boot release lever above the number plate is stuck in the 'open' position, instead of being pushed back towards the boot lid. I did once manage to squirt some oil to free it up - really need to dismantle it and apply grease.

My tailgate has developed the same fault. Whether I use the fob or the dashboard button, it relases the catch but fals to open, any suggestions as to reason? Last edited by CTCNetwork; Nov 24th, 2017 at 13:31. Reason: Quote deleted. |

More than likely that your tailgate lock actuator is defective. I've gone through two on mine over the course of 200,000km's. It's not a cheap part but it's easy enough to replace. On my vehicle the part # was 31276958.
