I have no idea not having tried it ! It depends where VIDA looks to get the mileage from to display .. There are fault codes available for "Manipulated Mileage "

Dear All,

I'm new on forum and this is my first post so first I want to say hello to all members of Volvo community.

I'm a happy owner of Volvo V90 from 2017, I bought my car with standard 8.1" LCD instrument cluster.
After few months I decide to try replacing small display for bigger one 12.3". I bought used one 12.3" on auction in Germany and replaced my small for new bigger one, to my suprice the new one start working straight away and everything is fine. Apart few minors issue ( but this issues are for difrent Thread ).

The major issue is that now I have different mileage on clock, original is 74000 Miles , but on the display is 145 000 Miles.

Already spoke with Volvo dealer and they saying that there is no way to reprogram the Mileage.

Thank you in advance for help

Regards

I think the trouble is that it’s an open forum so when a genuine person like you comes along you get your answer however then the criminals find the thread and profit from it.

I believed (certainly from the earlier version) that the Volvo data base had to be updated and that it would involve a trip to Volvo who will do it with proof.

Your vehicle is a pretty generation to mine. I would call a dealer and explain the situation.

As a 2017 model it’s SPA therefore your home type VIDA wouldn’t cover it.

As the time is running it will be more complicated to proof the original mileage.

Ofcourse first place in my journey was Volvo service and answers was " It is impossible reprogram the DIM.

To be honest I don't believe Volvo service. My previous car was Volvo V60 D4 2014, and there was no issue with retrofit the DIM and reprogram the MILEAGE.

Unfortunately I can't use VIDA, I'm using VDASH for diagnostic and at the moment I have few faults in DIM

Vdash shows thesame milege as is on the cluster,

The true mileage is stored in various locations , you might find someone who can hack the display panel but you dont know what will happen when you turn the ignition on or when it next connected up to Volvo .

maybe you can fit the original board in the larger display?

The dealer has no way of doing that unless the unit is a new one where the true mileage is programmed in by the software reload . Volvo UK Technical dept. can do it , but probably won't for legal reasons ......
