My transporter has 104,000 on it now In just over two years ran mostly on co op diesel and it just keeps going no egr or dpf issues at all. In fact the entire vehicle has been and still is faultless even with 25k oil changes on the long life service regime. I’m not a vw fan but I am very impressed with it and it has got me thinking about there cars now

I spend about £80-90 of fuel a week in my Mini Diesel, My wife uses about £30-35 in our V70. I have tried "better" fuels, and found no difference in the more expensive fuels over what comes out of the pump at Morrisons....only the 5-6p price difference.
My Mini does some 500-600 miles a week running as a learner car, and spends many hours running almost non stop I think the running smoothness of my diesels is down to what you use them for, low miles not letting the engine get up to a proper temp causes more problems than what fuel. Having cheap fuel in a diesel that does not work may well cause more problems as it may well degrade, but burn it quickly, get the car serviced when it needs it, and with 116k in the Mini and 214k on our volvo and both running well I shall not waist money on the more expensive fuels i would rather spend it on decent red wine! |
