£680 for a downpipe! thats downright theft!
this one is built for angled flanges and the guy has a straight flange hotside

Go and have a lookon TME's site Duncan, that's what's on mine.
Crazy money, but excellent quality and was on the car when I bought it, so bonus (You'll be converting my DP to angled at some point btw, just saying lol)

Watch it if you use a 200 cel cat.
It can put up a cat efficiency fault code. But putting the rear sensor in a spacer helps this problem.

My old V70 2.4T used to throw a 0422 code when I fitted NTK 02 sensors. I just ignored it and the fuel consumption actually got progressively better without impairing performance. Thanks for the advice though - the JT downpipe is going on tomorrow |

Not apart from making sure everything's nice and clean, then bolting up the flange first before connecting to the rest of the system. That then lets the flexi take the strain.
Not unheard of though to have a warped flange (mmm... Sounds lovely) refuse to seal.

+1 for the warped flange. check it with a straight edge, it may be ****ed. worst case scenario hit it with a belt sander or exhaust putty. if it was an angled flange hot side and DP you could have used the fibre ring the S60R uses

I made the mistake (due to time and circumstances) of letting the local garage fit it (yeah I know) and they reckon they couldn't get a good seal... 😈
I won't have time to take it off myself and give it a go until new year. Exhaust putty (or fire cement perhaps) seems the way to go. Also, I know the angled flange is the way to go, but even with a slight blow it has really woken the car up in the mid rev range. Well happy 😊 Last edited by sdg1970; Dec 4th, 2017 at 22:14. |
