MAF sensor replacement-tricky problem.
001.JPGWhat I thought would be an easy job has turned out a bit of a sod due to the fact that the air outlet pipe has little of no play in it so getting the existing sensor out is proving tough.Would I be better coming in from the other end by removing the air filter box? Ideas/suggestions etc most welcome-thank you.

Why not just undo the 2 torx screws securing the MAF sensor in the MAF sensor housing?
What tests have you done on the MAF to condemn it for changing?

I have done that but it wont pull out to the left to disengage it from the air outet pipe as the pipe wont move to the right to allow me to release the MAF.That outlet pipe is rigid not the flexible type.Codes are MAF related.Thanks.

Hi,
No, Simon is saying why don't you just undo the sensor from the housing so you will not have to remove any pipes, also split inlet air pipes / any air leaks can give MAF codes, as car is taking in air from the leak, Dave |

Also, a MAF fault code doesn't necessarily mean a MAF sensor fault, for example, what does the live airflow data show across the rev range?
