Question aftermarket silencers

Hi, I have a 1998 V70, 165bhp. My rear silencer is becoming loud so I am looking for a replacement. Main dealer parts here are very expensive. shipping from uk is prohibitive so am looking in Germany. have found Klarius silencers which get good reviews but some complain that they are loud. I simply want a decent box. Does anyone have experience of Klarius or a good alternative. thanks.

In my limited experience the market has polarised, like so many other things, no middle ground any more. The proper item at huge cost, or chinese tat regardless of the name on it.

I'd check out Eternalcar or ETS[both advertise on a well known auction site] I recently bought a full cat back exhaust for my V6 Omega-so that's two pipes with a silencer in each pipe+plus the back box[twin inlet, twin exit box]complete with fittings and rubber hangers for under £90 delivered.Good quality[for what I know of exhausts!] good fit and quiet[which I like]too.I would imagine they do more than Vauxhall/Opel exhausts.

Klarius is a reasonable aftermarket exhaust to be fair.
I wouldn't get hung up on genuine Volvo exhausts.
I put one on just over 2 years ago and the tail pipe has rotted out completely therefore in this instance it's obviously not the same metal they used in the assembly lines.

Hi Byootox, thanks for that. I have found a Klarius on ebay uk which is only £165.00 new so have gone for it. My main concern is a quiet silencer two baked bean tins sticking out the back has long gone. jack.

Baked bean tins are excellent in combination with gun gum or fire cement to patch an exhaust for a few months.
