Default S60 2005 d5 heated seats question

When i bought my car i had to replace the heater control adjustment panel because of a broken dial. The one i took out didn't have the option of the heated seats buttons. Ive got one now with the heated front seats buttons. They don't work? Do my seats actually have the heaters, so to speak, built in? How do i find out? My owners manual says theres a fuse box in the passenger side (left) glovebox. Theres clearly isn't one. Just the driver side in the side dash when you open the door. Now I've looked on the Internet for fuse diagrams and it says there is a 15amp fuse for the heated seats and its in number 8. There is a fuse there. But no heated seats when i press the buttons. (No lights either) the passenger seat isnt electric (adjustment) its manual, but theres a box type thing under the seat with multiple wires coming out of them and theres another wire going up the back of the seat somewhere? What is this? The driver seat is electric and has the same box thing but also has another bigger box next to it. Can someone please help

If the original control didn’t have the button, you don’t have heated seats. The control unit under the seat and heater elements won’t be present. You also need software to activate the function, which Volvo can’t/won’t install - been there , tried to do that and ended up installing an aftermarket heated seat system.

Oh buggery. Any idea what the boxes are for then? Seems strange then if its never had heated seats and the passenger seat has never been electric. They must be there for a reason?

Probably part of the airbag and seatbelt pre-tensioning system.
