Hi,

Where's the best place to get one of these, volvo dealership? I would prefer a stainless clip if someone can point me in the right direction.

I checked mine tonight after reading this, and it's really rusted, despite the full service history. I would have thought the dealership would have picked up.

Slightly off topic but is there anything else I should look for as a Volvo newbie.

Hi,

We at FRF Volvo can supply these easily enough if required. It is a genuine Volvo part as we have supplied to many customers in the past.

If you are still interested then please call us on either of our direct parts lines: 01792 790066 or 01792 784272. (Lines are open Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 5pm). As soon as you say "modified stainless steel jubilee clip for the S40 or V40 lower radiator hose" we will know what you need!

Please remember to mention this forum (or our discount code: 'C3') so we use our discounted account for you (This applies to any Volvo parts you may require a price for!)

Many thanks,

Simon

Hi if you can afford new ones pop down to your local BMW dealer all BMW clips are stainless, I think Mercs are as well or your local breakers and remove them from a breaker, new is best of course, the better auto factors should stock them as well.

Not to be difficult but we do have a temp gauge , and if it start to get over 95 celsius , you just dont continue before checking the problem, at 120 degrees its generally a bit late.

A temperature gauge is no good to you when the bottom hose blows off , you loose ALL your coolant in 2 seconds flat .... a huge cloud of steam ... If you stop immediately you should be ok , but the steam will clear as quick as it came and you may think it is ok . There is no longer any coolant surrounding the temperature gauge sender so it may well drop ! You keep going and the internals drastically overheat before the heat soaks through to the temperature sender and the needle goes up to the end . By then it is far too late ...
