Apparently it’s a common fault the plastic cowling becomes loose they have a fix with a better grade rubber boots. Someone told me that they would not fix it unless they hear it on the day however I let him listen to it on you tube and he knew straight away quite a big job so i don’t think that they like doing it still awaiting techs report

Update on screeching noise on xc60 2017 got it back this afternoon all good Volvo replaced sealing rings on driveshafts with modified parts all done under warranty all good so far nice one mill Volvo Newcastle

Hi whitten they can tell as soon as they put it up on the lift. There will be signs of movement where the clips have failed. Volvo have recognised the fault so you shouldn’t have any problems YouTube intermittent screeching noise xc60

Just have your Brake pads checked
I had a similar noise and I went about 2 months without having it fixed. It sounded like the right front but it was actually the right back wheel.
I stopped a few times at the Garage and since I kept asking for them to check the right front, they couldn't find fault. Until one day the noise was so loud I asked my wife to run beside the car to confirm.where the noise was coming from. Found out it was the right rear and the brake pads were completely worn out so the disc was basically screeching due to the brake pad metal holder scratching against it. That solved it for me. |
