thats ok , idle is 1 to 3 ish when a regeneration has taken place .. there is no normal reading , it is continually going up and down as the days pass .

thanks for the info, to add do you know what hpa readings tell the car to go into regen mode ,
these high low readings will help in the future when it does a failed regen

regeneration is decided on a lot of factors , the main one is the calculated amount of soot in the filter . But don't worry about it , if the light is out its fine , if the light comes on the fault code will guide you as to what is wrong . which could be a numer of reasons !

my problem was no light on, it was only due to the rad fan running on when the ign was turned off over the last 3 mths, i plugged in my launch crp and found failed regen fault code , when i removed it the code would just return the next time it was driven . i dont like doing a forced regen hate it when a car just sits there at 4000rpm so i used some of this dpf in situ cleaner it did a very good job cleaned out alot of muck , and the car is running as it should , i will keep an eye on the hpa readings once a mth to get an idea how its doing

so there is no fault but the regeneration has been cut short , have you been doing short journeys ? The fan will be running if you stop in the middle of a regeneration of course .

i do a mix of 5miles to 30 miles with the odd 50-100miles over a course of 4 weeks , have a sneaky suspicion the temp probe is faulty will try a test later today . i would leave the car running if there was indication light on the dash to say its in regen mode

see if you can read out the particle filter temperature sensor . There is no problem if you stop in the middle of a regeneration , it simply carries on when it is next able to ... the whole process does not take long on the road , maybe 10 or 15 minutes . I don't think you really have a problem ...
