Radio fix
Hello, I bought a 2012 V70 but it didn't have a radio fitted (ex police car). I bought a unit from a breakers (Ebay) and managed to get the car reg and VIN of the car that the radio had originally come from. I've spoken to Volvo but for the year that the radio came from (59) the radio was hard wired, as such, to the car, and there is not a pin code for it they can provide.
Obviously the breakers don't want it back! Any suggestions as to how I might get the radio working or will I just have to settle for an aftermarket one. Thank you very much. Sorry if you've read this in another forum this morning but I posted in the wrong one. |

You will have to go to dealer or independent that has vida online. Ask them to load the software called : remove ITP and after that radio should work, since it's ex police the car config may need changing as adding soft for the radio type you want to install, and then soft reload for the radio if needed. They will try to tell you that it can't be done with used radio but it can as long as the ITP is removed. Volvo don't use the pin, the CEM checks for serial nr of the audio.
