Default C30 d4 clutch problem 77k

Hey all, only had the d4 a week and already a problem.
In the higher gears the revs raise and the engine doesn't from 2-3k then the car smoothly catches up. No jolts.
I'm assuming this is clutch slip and I've notified the dealer...
Such a headache already with a car we absolutely love.
Are these known for having weak clutches that fail early?
Could it be something less extreme like maybe slave cylinder sticking or needing a fluid change? It doesn't do it all the time which is odd...
Had a service before I bought it... Wondered if an oil spill from the filler could have got through the bell housing and dripped on the clutch... Who knows...
Any help.

Has it been a city car? Or mapped with a lot of extra torque? Shouldn't be using up a clutch in 77k miles, typically that's only just over half way through its life...

Not sure pal, I'm the 4th owner. I did read about a batch of post 2010 d5 models having weak clutches that Volvo were repairing so I'm wondering if that's the problem.
It's annoying but at least the dealer/warranty is gonna sort it, better to happen now I guess.

It was a trade in at a local Citroen dealership then went to the used car centre where I bought it 3 days later.

You bought someone elses problem , they knew it needed a new clutch .. Make sure they use genuine volvo parts including the clutch slave cylinder even if you have to pay the small difference in cost otherwise it could well develop a fault just after their warranty runs out and you will be back to square one . I have seen non volvo clutches have problems many times over the years ... The volvo clutch kits are improved over the 2010 ones .

Yeah I thought the same thing pal. Gotta be done right, that's why I'd rather go through warranty with a trusted garage than give it back to the dealer. Gotta talk warranty with them tomorrow.
