Front disc size

Hi folks

Can anyone confirm the front disc size on a MY17 XC60 D4 AWD?

Eurocarparts gives different pads for 324 and 328mm discs based on my reg number. I assume Volvo changed the size at some point in the model run but don't know which I have as the discs are rusted on the edge so I can set the stamping

I had the same problem, and its not easy to measure that small difference!
My 2017 2WD has 324mm with a single piston, which may be the clue!
However, to avoid returns, best to whip a wheel off and have a look.
On mine the diameter is cast on the front of the caliper, its not visible with the wheel on.
I also found it more than useful to have an alignment bolt (M14x1.5) to get the wheels back on!

Next question. The caliper bolts are allen/hex. Are they 12mm?

The largest Allen bit I have is 10mm so I'll need to get a larger one to do the job

Volvo seem to like odd sizes, or whoever actually supplies their brake parts!
Mine turned out to be 11mm!
I bought a set which has, you guessed it, 10 and 12, but no 11! They are available on the net, but I actually used a long 10mm Allen key type at a slight angle, they weren't that tight, just tapped it with the back of the hand!

I did wonder as the 10mm was loose but not turning but assumed it would be 12mm

First time I've done brakes where it's not been a standard nut

Got to wait for the pads to arrive anyway so will try to get an 11mm hex socket

Interesting, mine had 9mm hex sliders on the calipers.
The car has single piston calipers on 324mm discs, D5 AWD.

I saw reports of 9mm, so was confident my set would do the job, but not the case.
Maybe the late cars changed manufacturer.
Interestingly the clearly marked Volvo OE front pads were also marked ATE, whereas, the rear pads although similarly marked Volvo, had TRW emblazoned across them. Both companies major brake manufacturers.
Rears on mine were bolt type, 13 and 15mm spanner if you get to them!

Yes, interesting. What year is yours?

Mine are definitely larger than 10mm. Have ordered 11 and 12mm sockets just to be safe

Rears were bolts on mine. You'd think they could standardise!

If I'm unsure I will hold two lolly sticks or similar at 180 degrees from each other at the edge of a disk, then ask someone to measure the diameter. It should give you a good idea.
