For a modest 250-300BHP the std maf will work but doing the head work and a good cam you should be be more like 300+ so really at the point of wanting the 3 inch MAF

The head is fine, the corrosion is only VERY minor and most heads I see are worse but they can all be fixed

Keep one to the side for me then Dai haha.

Glad to hear the head is fixable, I will put it to one side then and fix it up as and when funds allow.

My thoughts entirely.....

I fixed a cross thread in mine with a thread tap (to clean the straight bit) and then a wheel bolt (bought off ebay) with the correct thread to straighten the bent ones from the inside. It was a little tricky to get it started from the inside as the thread isn't a clean taper there, but a bit of gentle fiddling got it in. Its now used on the track regularily.

Some of the cooling ports are blocked by the gasket.

To be fair the thread are only damaged for a few turns as the spark plug was on such an angle it wouldn't go any further.

How the frig they did it is beyond me as it is very easy to tell if something is cross threaded especially on one of the most visible plug holes!

I'd use a thread repair tap from inside the combustion chamber in that case Luke and then fit a plug with a longer thread or fit one of these thread inserts.

Similar to a Helicoil but a solid insert with a lip so it will go tight in the head.

You're welcome Kev. I think i've picked the right size there, M10 x 1 for the B230, other sizes are available as well.
