Speed cameras (again)
Most will be aware but just to remind you that the cameras on both the M1 and M25 are now permanently on (as opposed to being live during speed reductions) set to 72mph and ticket process is automatic. Mind how you go now!

Doesn't really matter wether it is fake news or not, if you choose to ignore the speed limit and get caught there is only one person to blame.

Sorry I should clarify.
The HADECS 3 camera system on Highways England road network will always enforce the variable speed limit. The national motorway speed limit may be enforced but its not universal, and in any case not at 72mph. ( 10% + 2mph is generally the accepted threshold for enforcement. None of this is 'new' news though HADECS3 enforcement on the motorways has been about for a loooong time now, its just some bits of the motorway network are being upgraded and will feature this enforcement system and the Red 'X' lane closure will also be enforced.. The point is they are on 24/7 now on these motorways, also the 10% + 2 is only an ACPO guide line, any speed above the posted limit MAY be enforced, the +2 mph is to allow for variation in speedometer accuracy.

If you check out the gantries as you pass under them you can clearly see that they all have brackets for the cameras but most are empty.
