Default 740 Thermostat.

I fitted a new genuine Volvo thermostat - surprised if there's anything wrong with it.

Well, at least you know when the thermostat was changed! I did plugs, oil, and air filters...although I know nothing about the car since I sold it - 8-10 months ago.

As for the belt (you've had the head off?), it wasn't in need of imminent change when I bought the car - but as it is an inexpensive job and if you're keeping the car then it's not a waste of money.

I gave a summary* - on an A4 sheet - of the history to the buyer, he obviously didn't hand this on (and I've deleted it).

Prufrock.

*I summarised the history from the extensive one I had from the owner of 18 years.

Hi, I still have the blue box that my thermostat came in. Part number on it is 273307. It was probably about £12 from the dealers and came with the seal IIRC. Your old thermostat will have the temperature stamped on it, which should be 92degC. Photo of old and new thermostat here: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpo...4&postcount=52

Ah I've just realised this is Prufrock's old car, so you can ignore my previous post.
