Exclamation Gear box is permanty showing reverse!

Hi All,

I'm new on here - but I own a V40 XC 1.6 d2 2014 - nothing flash I know but I love the car! I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this...

I recently found a small leak from the gear box casing joint and I've had it removed checked resealed and refitted at a garage. Now the car thinks its permanently in reverse! While I drive the Dash indicator shows 'R', reverse sensors on, reverse light on. How can this happen? Any suggestions would be massively appreciated!

Jas

I think the easiest for you to start off with would be to take it back to the garage that did the work. They have after all taken your money (I assume) to do the job satisfactorily, which apparently is not the case.

If you try anything in the meantime they may shift an element of blame to you, or even wash their hands of the issue.

On the face of it, it does sound like something that should be easily remedied (by the garage!).

Good luck !
