Default C70 - Roof issue

Hi, lady owner here, not knowing which way to turn! My C70 roof is not working, apparently according to the main dealer I need a new hydraulic pump (will have to wait until I sell a kidney!) in the meantime I am now getting a warning message that my roof is not locked (it is) and constant alarm, the rear demister won't work and my boot won't open (I know how to do this manually), but my question is can a fuse removal sort this, or if anyone has any other ideas I would be very grateful.

The pump in the boot is wrapped in foam so when you get a leak in the boot it absorbs the water and the pump rusts up.
after the yaers pass and if you use the roof a lot the wires can break in the loom on the left hand side , you get faulty sensor codes but it is never the sensor but a broken wire.

You really need someone who knows this system and has the right hand held diagnostic/test tool ( Volvo System Tester) The dealer is the only person with experience , tools, and back up and information to do this.

you might be able to find a second hand pump or even get it repaired somewhere... but fix the boot leak first...

With regard to the diagnostic - isn't is the VST tool for Mk1 C70 and VIDA for Mk2?

As I know you have had roof problems with your C70, any advice for this lady?
And Karl Sabin is an expert on C70 roofs.

Default Roof fuse?

I have contacted Cayman Autos to get sorted, but in the meantime I will have to drive for 2 and a bit hours to get there. Is it ok to remove the roof fuse and will this stop the incessant alert? I believe it is fuse 15 under the bonnet, but can't fathom how to get the cover off the fuse box.

Any advice would be gratefully received.
