C70 roof broken :(

Hey!
Just wondering if anyone has had the ropes snap that pull the headlining back on a c70 mk2? Mine seems to have snapped or detatched and now the rear quarter headlining doesnt return to correct position when closing roof. Been quoted £360 to fix😥

Do you mean the the kind of long triangular part right by what would be the rear window pillar?

Yeah thats it.. seems to attach in boot and 2 fixing points on the headliner

I bought mine about a year ago and the previous owner showed me that he had replaced a cable with a length of strong elastic just tied in place. It's not a long piece but it's right behind the very narrow pointy bit( hope that's not too technical!) that is behind the rear headrest. He showed me it with the roof in the half way 'service' position and it holds that very end piece in position and stops it flapping out. Not sure if this is the same problem as yours but it's seemed to do the trick. Hope I've made some sense in describing it!

Haha i will have to put it in service position and take a look i guess.. maybe its a common problem. £360 seems a lot though!

If you can open the roof then stop it halfway closed you might be able to see where the cable is meant to run by checking the opposite side?

Yeah i will take a look mate! So annoying. Just hope its not done any further damage to anything
