My ongoing saga with my 850R took a turn for the worse today.
It all started just before Christmas when basically it froze up the coolant and we had a core plug pop in the turbo. Took the turbo off to fix that and put back together. When you started it there was 'steam' coming out of the back so diagnosed cracked head. I tried some Barrs which seemed to help as the steam stopped and I thought I had rescued the car. However today after driving about 2 miles there was an absolute 'steam engine' load of oily smelling white smoke coming out of the back , which I suppose is the turbo? I think my car will be up for sale by the end of the weekend. Its costing too much now and I do have another anyway. Just one question, if the re is massive cloud of oily smelling white smoke is that the turbo or could a cracked head still give that effect? Thanks |
